Executive Team
Michael “Mike” W. Russo, CEDS
CEO
Mike enjoys the competition in digital forensics and litigation because these events must produce a winner; and Mike competes to win. For Mike, every day and every project starts at zero. By the end of every day - workdays, weekends, & vacations - he must achieve tangible progress. Mike usually sets the pace for all sides involved in an engagement. Mike’s mantra is “prove it.” And for Mike, the proof is in the data because data has no agenda. Mike’s focus is his filter. He keeps everyone on point; no matter how intriguing delays, obstacles, and tangents appear.
Mike’s experience includes the entire gamut of litigation support and digital forensics: from hardware management to network infrastructure and software development; from advising attorneys and firm clients on discovery responses to production compliance in billion-dollar cases; from litigation holds to e-Discovery audits; from active intrusion response to employee education. Mike has managed cases on every major E-Discovery platform and is proficient in a variety of software languages. He specializes in auditing existing e-Discovery environments – including correcting system and workflow inefficiencies, ensuring compliance with best practices and case-specific e-Discovery agreements, preventing inadvertent production of sensitive materials, and creating custom solutions to automate and accelerate manual efforts.
Mike is a Certified e-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) with fifteen years of experience in digital forensics, eDiscovery, and litigation support. Mike’s career spans four offices of the United States Attorney’s Office, litigation boutique law firms, and national and international law firms. His criminal and forensic experience includes investigations into – and defense of – financial crimes, internet crimes, white collar crimes, terrorism, and other major crimes. His civil experience includes prosecution and defense of cases involving insurance, health care, class actions and mass claims, securities, and complex commercial litigation.

George Lavín, JD, CEDS
Director of eDiscovery
George is our project conductor. He excels at aligning—and realigning—project resources and needs until everything sings. George takes ownership of everything we commit to. George is a keen team leader because he has developed the skill of identifying and articulating people’s strengths. While many search for the perfect team “structure” or “process,” George focuses on promoting great team results by asking everyone to do a lot of what they already do well. George has profound skill in articulating the important details of a project, process, regulation, test, or decision. This is vital in contentious litigation and investigations, where any step and every decision can be questioned and abused by an opponent. Our clients trust George to provide a clear, concise, and defensible eDiscovery plan, no matter how complex the investigation or litigation.
George has over twenty years of eDiscovery experience, with over ten years in senior project management roles. He has worked in litigation boutique firms, AM Law 100 firms, and several external eDiscovery managed review providers and consultancies. Despite George’s expertise, he remains curious about the intersection of law and technology. George recognizes that proficiency in data analysis and management is a tireless process, not a fixed state. His favorite cases are those that require us to solve a new problem, acquire a new tool, or develop a new process.
George earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs from Florida International University (FIU). He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Cardozo School of Law. He is also an ACEDS Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS). George grew up in Barcelona, Spain and is a native Spanish speaker. As a citizen of the U.S.A, Canada, and Spain, George can work without sponsorship in most of North America and the European Union, and is well-versed in GDPR issues.
